The standard mileage allowance for business driving for 2017 is 53.5¢ per mile.

This is down from 54¢ per mile for 2016.

The rate for medical travel and moving fall to 17¢ a mile for 2017,  down from 19¢ per mile
in 2016.

The rate for charitable driving remains at 14¢ per mile for 2017 and 2016. It is fixed by law.

You also can claim the cost of parking and tolls. Use of the standard rate
won’t bar deducting personal property taxes on the vehicle. But you can’t add the cost
of fuel or repairs. Nor can you use the rates if you depreciated or expensed the car.
